Ecstatic Trance Postures
NEW on Maui!! Coming Soon!
“Ecstatic Trance Postures” (ETP), as taught by the Cuyamungue Institute, are a way to do trance journeys using an ancient posture for the portal, with a drum or rattle for the sound induction. The postures have been collected from ancient artifacts, carvings, sculptures and cave paintings. The oldest one is 32,000 years old!
There are standing, sitting, and lying down postures. The Institute has a canon of these ancient postures that have been collected and tested over several decades. This method of Ecstatic Trance Postures was developed by the Institute’s founder, Felicitas Goodman, an anthropologist, researcher, university professor and brilliant woman. The Institute is located in northern New Mexico.
First, the posture is introduced, and we practice it. Then a simple ceremony calls in and honors the spirits of the 7 directions, and provides protections. Next we sit quietly for 5 minutes, and then get into the posture. The drumming last for 15 minutes, enabling you to have direct experiences with spirits in alternate realities and worlds. ETP is held in a Sacred Circle, and is completely safe.
In addition to the direct experience of meeting spirit guides, teachers and ancestors, you may receive personal guidance for your life path, answers to questions, spontaneous healing, or just have fun playing with spirits (animals, angels, and more). It can be life changing!
Bring a Journal to record your journey. We share our journeys, after we thank the spirits. It’s so fascinating to hear everyone’s experiences! Learning through Direct Experience is always my favorite!
